I joined another of those contests on Photocrowd. This one is called ‘The Number 5’ – asking for anything with a 5 in it. I love this kind of loose direction, it literally can mean anything and nothing. So I went on a little hunt this past weekend. First step, get inspired by the submissions my fellow Photocrowd’ers already put into the contest. A million great ideas, from clocks and sports jerseys to money, gamecards and licence plates.
Second step, find my own interpretation of ‘The Number 5’. Something that clearly depicts the number, is maybe a little less frequently represented in the set of pictures already submitted, and gives an interesting angle to it. One batch I found ‘in’ the Lugano lake 🙂 Little bright red pedalo boats, you can rent and paddle your way across the lake. Of almost any number, luckily the 5 was represented a few times. Second batch I actually found at home. There are so many things with a five written on them. Books and Newspapers, your computer keyboards, the clock of the microwave, and probably 55 more that I yet have to uncover.
Third, final and most important step, try and take some creative pictures of your discoveries. As the ones below. What do you think? Any favourites? Any other ideas what could be shown and how? Please let me know in the comments below and/or share you own discoveries under #v2p on Instagram.
